Our Story

The Kelly family has always had a love for small business and animals. Back in 2003, Cindy Kelly and her sons, Stephen and Bryan, decided to combine their passions and create a part-time neighborhood pet sitting business called Happier at Home. Cindy’s goal was to provide complete peace of mind for clients while they were away from their pets; something that she knew from personal experience was hard to find.

Over time, Happier at Home’s handwritten logs stored in the laundry room closet turned into an online software suite, a team of trusted pet sitters, and an amazing association of clients and their dogs from all over Spring and Northwest Houston. The family business core of Happier at Home has never changed, though Stephen and Bryan have since stepped up to manage the business, allowing Cindy a quiet life of pet sitting and travel. The Kellys are more dedicated than ever to their promises of trust, communication, and love that have made Happier at Home such a joyful and rewarding part of their lives.

Meet the Team

Cindy Kelly
Founder, Pet Sitter
Hi Animal Lovers!  I am Cindy, the founder of Happier at Home. Having been a dog lover since I got my first puppy at age 9, I am now living my dream of working with dogs, cats, and their amazing owners every day. I created HaH in 2003 to teach my (then young) sons about business and to share our love of pets. HaH has now taken off into their full time passion and we all love it! My mission is to create a way for clients to have freedom to leave their pets behind knowing everyone is relaxed and happy.
Stephen Kelly
Co-owner, Pet Sitter
Hi! I’m Stephen. In addition to being one of Happier at Home’s co-owners, I manage the online schedule and work with our excellent pet sitters every day. I also get to meet all kinds of people and pets along the way, which is one of the many reasons why I love what I do. Starting Happier at Home with my family only increased my love and respect for the animals we let into our homes, and remains one of the best life decisions I’ve ever made.
Bryan Kelly
Co-owner, Pet Sitter
Hello there! I’m Bryan, and I’m having a great day, thanks for asking. I co-own Happier at Home as well as manage the marketing and financials, so if there’s a spreadsheet involved, it was probably made by me. Pet sitting has been a part of my life for over two decades. I’ve grown up with pets as a part of the family, and the opportunity to meet so many others, all with their own unique quirks and personalities, has been a true pleasure.
Shelby White
Territory Coordinator, Pet Sitter
Hi, I’m Shelby. I am thrilled to be working for Happier at Home caring for animals and giving their owners peace of mind while they are away. As a lifelong animal lover, it truly is my dream job. My husband and I have three cats and three dogs of our own, which means there is never a dull moment in our home. Before I was with Happier at Home, I got my Bachelors degree in education at Lamar University in Beaumont and taught elementary school for several years.
Sue Couts
Pet Sitter
Hi, I’m Sue. Nothing makes me happier than being around fur babies and being a part of the Happier at Home family! I am married to Charlie, involved in dog and cat rescue, and most recently retired. One of perks of having more time on my hands is helping Animal Rescue Kingdom with out-of-state events, but I also enjoy helping with local rescues from feeding feral cats to opening our home to foster dogs.
Judy Sher
Pet Sitter
Hi there, I’m Judy! I moved to the Houston area so I could be closer to family and heard about Happier at Home from one of their pet sitters. It sounded so refreshing to work with loved animals after 25 years of the corporate world. I love connecting with my doggie clients and their people. What a fun way to spend some of my time! Working with the HaH team is fast becoming my very favorite job ever!
Izzy Cooper
Pet Sitter
Hello! I am Izzy and I am so happy to be able to work for Happier at Home. I have lived in Houston almost my entire life and I currently own one, dachshund, one lizard, and two goats. I am a student at Lone Star and I also work as a riding instructor at my stable. I love meeting new pets and I enjoy making sure they receive the best of care. I can’t wait to meet yours!
Danielle Browning
Pet Sitter
Hi everyone! My name is Danielle Browning. I joined The Happier At Home Family in 2022 and it has been such a blessing to work with such kind people, and the most amazing pets! I have lived in Houston my entire life and have been married to my wonderful husband for 12 years now, with two kids, two Great Danes (Willis & Moose) and three cats! (Zoey, Mittins, and the baby Mr. Toe Beans.) We have never had a home without pets and we could never imagine having one without them; we truly love the chaos and joy they bring.
Rachel Battle
Pet Sitter
Hi all! I’m Rachel and I absolutely love working for Happier at Home. I live with my husband and three children. After working a corporate job for most of my adult life, I decided to leave to homeschool my children. I spent many years pursuing a passion of fostering and rehabbing certain breeds of dogs that can be considered difficult to rehome. Through this company I’ve discovered that going on visits and walks feels like self-care rather than work. I love spending time with the pets and knowing that owners can leave home with a peace of mind.
Liza Bridgeman
Pet Sitter
Hi everyone! My name is Liza and working for Happier at Home is a dream come true! I’m originally from Massachusetts, and growing up on the coast with three brothers I have taken care of everything; from hermit crabs and lobsters to cats and dogs. Working for Happier at Home is an oxymoron as it’s 100% joy to take care of all of your pets! Each animal is so special and unique and I treasure the time spent with all of them.
Camille Webb
Pet Sitter
Hi! I’m Camille. I am so thrilled to be a part of the Happier At Home Team. In addition to being on the team, I am a student at University of Houston Downtown, an Astros Shooting Star, and a Jazzercise instructor. I always love meeting new animals and I am so grateful to have the opportunity to make your pets feel happy and safe!
Kazooie
Good Little Puppy Dog
Kazooie is a scruffy little bundle of unbridled sunshine and loves her humans with a dedication that borders on silliness. She’s always 100% excited about everything– playtime, mealtime, lap time, walk time– especially if it means that somebody will pay attention to her. Surrounded by family members and about a dozen nicknames (Kazoo, Zooie, Zoo Zoo, etc.), this little terrier mix joined the Kelly family in early 2023, and is exactly where she wants to be.
Tucker
Playful Scamp
Tucker is a lovable goofball with big paws and a bottomless pit of good nature. He’ll sign up to be your friend on sight, and if you bring a toy, it’s BFF territory. He gallops his way around the house looking for fun to be had and, when it’s time for a break, watches the neighborhood from his favorite window. If you spot him from the street, wave– he’ll give you a Happier at Home tail wag in reply.
